Support after CTD

A few weeks ago Leona Philipps from Lavandula Support came to speak to the interns about the role of a Support Worker, and how she and other support workers out there can help the interns once they’ve secured paid employment.

They played a game of bingo where a picture would show up on the screen and the interns would have to say what they think the picture represents and then explain what that means to them, whilst also marking it on their bingo card.

Each picture was an aspect of Leona's job and something that she could do to help the interns with whilst they were working, for example: time management.

To finish off, Leona answered some questions from the interns regarding why she started her company and her motivations for doing so, what a typical day looks like for her and what she enjoys the most about her work.

Leona said she really enjoyed the morning, telling us, "It was a great session and the interns were fantastic and so engaged! I was really impressed and enjoyed chatting to them."
