“Positive Hands”
The Supported Interns at Coleman Training Development made a “Positive hands” board as part of their wellbeing practice in Bradford.
Our Safeguarding Officer and Wellbeing Lead, Damian, arranged a "Positive Hands" wall display created by the Interns.
These hands were drawn up by one of our interns at home, after finishing for the day.
She told us she felt like she really belonged here and was safe, and after she drew up her own hand she made more for her peers to fill in too. They then coloured them in and wrote their own positive personal experiences and positive workplace practices.
The interns used words like, "Respect staff" and "Respect other interns", as well as "Positive attitude", "Peer support", "Friendship" and "Family".
These now hang in our Wellbeing room and means the interns had input in decorating the room for themselves, an empowering opportunity at Coleman Training Development.
