Intern spotlight
A parent shares their child’s experience since becoming a Supported Intern at Coleman Training Development.
As well as sharing our interns' journeys we want to share how Supported Internships benefit young people from a parent/ carer perspective as well.
💐We recently received this lovely email from a parent:
"I just want to say how thankful I am for the things my child has achieved and overcome since starting at Coleman Training Development a year ago.
My child suffers really bad with mental health issues such as anxiety. My child was anxious, scared and nervous to start as they did not know anyone who was going to be there.
My child had, and still has, their own personal issues going on and since they have been going to CTD they have been able to overcome their fears. My child has been able to speak to people and meet new friends, they have become more mature and able to understand that you have to work to achieve your goals or get the things that they want.
CTD have treated my child like a person without any special needs. They have shown my child that nobody is the same and even though we all have our differences we should all be treated the same with the same respect, values and opportunities. CTD have given my child this chance of being able to live a day to day life, and be able to work with the disabilities and issues that my child has."
