Why Words Matter

A CTD supported intern is on a bespoke work experience opportunity at Bradford Christian School. He was introduced to the pupils the same way any staff member would be introduced.

🌟WHY WORDS MATTER 🌟

One of our supported interns is currently on his work experience placement at Bradford Christian School as a Teaching Assistant.

He is there to learn valuable skills to hopefully become a learning support assistant. Those of us that know any LSA's know how valuable they are.

Recently he was introduced by a teacher to his new class in the way any member of staff would be introduced, and with the appropriate formalities included:

"Hello everyone, this is our new member of staff. Please welcome Mr. Smith"

This is such an empowering use of words because it moves our SI from a learner to a mentor and really validates the work he's providing.
