Serious Games Workshop - Inspiring careers on the Railway

On Wednesday, we were visited by Mark from Chrome Angel, Graham from Angel Trains and Catherine from Try the Train for a Serious Games Workshop. The interns got to test out some amazing games that simulate the daily responsibilities of train guards and drivers. We also got to hear from their digital art and coding team, who spoke to us about their roles within the company.

Despite some initial hesitation, the interns were able to build their confidence in carrying out the real- life duties of train drivers and guards. They got to use the tablets to speak to AI customers, operate train doors and litter pick too. Using a VR headset, they had the opportunity to visit a train's cab to start and maneuver the machine.

The interns had lots of fun exploring the different roles available in the rail industry. Who knows, we might have a future rail operative here at CTD!
